Matlock Recovery Scheme
Client: Jackson Civil Engineering
An Environment Agency emergency works contract to provide bank stability to the River Derwent and increased flood protection to the local area.
Carter Taylor commenced works on the project in June 2022 by undertaking enabling works to make the existing Matlock River a bridge a 2-way bridge. The completion of the enabling works on the bridge allowed closure of the A6 so the project could be served by an 800t mobile crane.
We have installed a large working platform within the River Derwent to enable initial sheet piling. We are carrying out all flood wall drainage works, FRC works to the pile facing and flood wall and all associated reinstatements on completion.
In addition to these, we have carried out various environmental enhancements in the neighboring Halls Leys Park. We are also undertaking the engineering control and setting out for the scheme
A628 Penny Pie Park
Construction of a three lane gyratory for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
Carter Taylor undertook the installation of deep surface water drainage and attenuation, earthworks, ducting for lighting and traffic signals, kerbing, paving and landscaping.
Forge Dam Repair Works
Client: Keltbray
Emergency Repair Works to a collapsed section of Dam wall.
Works required installation of a temporary watercourse crossing and temporary dam, overpumping, excavation, new concrete foundation and new drystone wall and capping beam.
Rotherside Development
Client: Rotherside Commercial
A mixed use development, we have undertaken the initial drainage and storm attenuation works for the scheme. We have also undertaken foundation works for both commercial units and the new housing plots.
